Scratchboard and Ink
5" x 7"
The eye of a tiger, obviously. Today was a rather dull day, and I finally found my knife, so I took out a tiny little scratchboard I got for Christmas and started working.
When I was finished, I was rather unimpressed for some reason, so I tried out some inks. It's funny because I used my finger to smear ink where I wanted ink to be, then scratched away at it until the hue was acceptable. It was like finger painting in kindergarten all over again xD
The board itself is pretty small, so I decided on a close-up so I could get a whole bunch of detail. My style overall is easily described as "scritch-scratchy", but that's okay.
Also, I really enjoy drawing tigers because they have the most beautiful markings, colours, and are full of expression and beauty. To draw them and honour their existence is a very nice feeling. Don't forget how endangered tigers are
(Hence the title "Future" and having a rather dark, emotional picture). Time Taken:
Pencil Sketch: 5 minutes
Actual Scratchboard: 35 minutes
Ink Smearing: 15 minutes
Second Scratching: 10 minutes
